Website Navigation

The navigation for the website is the road that the people taken when browsing your web, so it needs to be clear, structured and intuitive. There are a few tips to make a good website navigation to attract more visitors:
1. Allow instant access to your site from anywhere within it. Ideally, you should be able to go to any page in a maximum of two clicks, or one.
2. Use same navigation scheme and elements on all pages. Create a common one to ensure that the users can use the site navigation effectively.
3. Use the text navigation. Text based navigation is better than image based navigation, because users will understand about link destinations in detail.
4. Keep navigation elements in close proximity and help users to develop a mental model of your web site.
5. Use the right margin for the web site’s main index.
6. Separate important items from housekeeping links: Privacy Policy, Site Map, FAQs and Contact Us.
7. Make links easy to find. For example, make them a different colour.
