Creating High Quality Web Site
As a webmaster, it is your job to deliver your clients need into the perfect web site that can fulfill their need. Creating a website may be a piece of cake for you, but does it really fulfill your clients need. Even when you finally able to create a dazzling site that can impress your client, is it helpful for the target market? Does your site friendly enough for them? Actually, there are some criteria you may use to consider whether the site you are designing is good enough or not. And here are some criteria for a high quality site.
Design. The design of your site will represent your client’s image. Forget the blinking, flashing red banner ad in the middle of your designs. Design professionally. Consider the logo and the color you use in your design.
Technology. Be careful of using the latest technology. You may want to show your client that you are up to the latest technology, but putting it all together will just give your site a bad impression. Furthermore, those latest technology like flash, PHP, or Java technology will just make your site longer to load. Use technology where it makes sense on your site, not just because you can. Choose the one you want to use carefully. Consider the function, not only how it will beautifully decorate your site.
Browser Compatibility. Check your site in every other browser. Don’t make your customers to upgrade to the latest browser, just because you like to use it. This is one important step to consider since you are offering easiness to your customers, not the other side.
Contact Information. For some reason, it is fashionable to make it hard for customers to reach you. Yes, I know, there are problems with spam and so on, but if they can’t contact you, how will they be able to tell you they want to hire you for. Be sure your contact information is easy to find on your site, and easy for your customers to use.
